The semester is finally winding down: I have just two more papers, a review session, some heavy grading and a final to finish (okay still sounds like a lot). I am writing to boast that I am now leaving my mark on the web: I actually made a comment on someone's blog yesterday. It was really long, because I feel strongly about the subject, depressing as it was… By the way, the girl in this background looks exactly like me! I even have the same outfit…;-)

The Faraway Tree

This is for those of you who laughed at my comment about dedicating this blog to fairyland Have you ever had a favorite book in childhood that you always wished you were in? For me, there were three, called the faraway tree series. I grew up in an ex-English colony, so my reading was predominantly by English authors while growing up. I found this site that is all about my favorite book, the Faraway Tree, by Enid Blyton. This tells about the lands that visit the top of the faraway tree, and then there's the page about the tree's characters.

I absolutely adore Enid Blyton, since her books really aid in stimulating a child's imagination.

Hi everyone! Okay, first of all, I am not the type that usually responds to e-mails, so it will be interesting to see whether I am able to maintain this blog. I am currently taking a class on Blogging in Business, taught by Andrew Watson (hmm, I'd like to include a link to his site but I am still fiddling around here… maybe in my next entry), and I have a few friends who have blogs so I wanted to see how this thing works.

It's very strange to have your thoughts out there for people to see. I was trying to brainstorm some ideas for this space: (1) write a book (one chapter each day?), (2) make it into a professional space, (3) write an autobiography (wouldn't that be interesting), or (4) dedicate it to something, like a theme… fairyland (yes, fairyland), religion, politics, Trinidad (my sweet, sweet, home country), finance, a TV show, hmmmm so many possibilities…. Well I will sleep on it for a few days and then come back. I am swamped with other projects at the moment anyways (I am really supposed to be doing research for a group meeting right now)

Until then, don't forget to set your clocks back on Sunday (I know I always do) and enjoy the weekend!
